April and may are the hottest month with temperature shooting up to 40'C. Days are usually hot and humid in the coastal regions of the city but the nights are pleasant as the soft breeze of the sea acts as a balm.
With the advent of Northeast monsoon, the city takes a sigh of relief as heavy downpour provides relief from the humdity. The rainy season begins from June and lasts through late November.
Winter arrives in the month of November and lasts through February. It is the best time to visit the city as the temperature dips to 20'C.
